The Current Sports Content Market
Typically sporting events are bundle with various other content and then delivered as part of an overall Pay TV subscription. This means that viewers end up paying for content that they may not want. Typically, they also end up paying more for this content.
In the current system local, regional and internal agencies are not incentivised to be transparent in their packaging or pricing. The reason for this that they to protect their relationship with both the rights holders and the broadcaster.

By eliminating these middlemen the revenues can go instead to the rights holders and at the same time lower the costs for the viewer.
At the same time blockchain technology can be used to identify who users are and what their viewing rights are. Through smart contracts delivered through the Ethereal blockchain payments can be taken. Again this won’t require any third party financial intermediaries.
